LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

PENN STATE

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture requires every retail food service operation have at least one employee who holds a nationally recognized food safety manager certification such as ServSafe®. All individuals seeking to receive and maintain certification are required to pass a certification exam every five years. The ServSafe® course, conducted by Penn State Extension, is for individuals preparing for the exam.

After attending the ServSafe® class on the first day and passing the proctored, multiple-choice exam with a score of 75 percent or higher on the second day, participants will receive a ServSafe® certificate, which meets the PDA requirement for food safety certification.

A certification class will be offered Jan. 23, and a certification exam will be offered Jan. 30, at the Lehigh County Agricultural Center, 4184 Dorney Park Road, Room 104 Allentown.

For information about the workshop cost and content, contact the Extension Office at 610-391-9840.
