Nearly 140 children received a warm coat and cold weather accessories from sponsors at St. Luke's University Health Network.
The program, in its 21st year, pairs physicians, administrators and staff with children and families in need to shop together for children's coats, hats, gloves and scarves.
The "Coats for Kids" program benefits clients of the VNA of St. Luke's, St. Luke's Community Health, Salvation Army and Fountain Hill and Donegan elementary schools.
The program is a volunteer effort by hospital physicians and employees. Transportation for the shoppers is donated in part by Palmieri Transportation, Inc. Additionally, Target stores at Airport Road and Cedar Crest Boulevard in Allentown provided discounts to shoppers.
After shopping together, sponsors and families returned to St. Luke's University Hospital - Bethlehem to share a hot buffet meal together.
