Wire stolen from
vineyard property
State Police Troop M Fogelsville say a large amount of copper wire was stolen sometime between 4 p.m. Nov. 8 and 7 a.m. the next day from inside and outside at home at Blue Mountain Vineyards, 7655 Leaser Road, Lynn Township.
Police say in a separate incident, a man walked onto Blue Mountain Vineyards property at 8:34 a.m. Nov. 16 and removed several feet of wire from ouside the property.
Vehicle hits
deer in Lowhill Twp
Jessica A. Siegfried, 27, of Fogelsville, was driving a 2002 Subaru Forester when it hit a deer 5:33 p.m. Dec. 5 on Kernsville Road, Lowhill Township, State Police Troop M Fogelsville say.
According to police, Siegfried was eastbound on Kernsville Road at the intersection with Horseshoe Road when a deer entered the roadway directly in her path of travel.
After striking the deer, Siegfried pulled her vehicle into the parking lot at the Leather Corner Post Hotel.
Siegfried, who was wearing her seat belt, was uninjured, police say.
2-vehicle crash
in Lynn Township
State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Chelesa K. Jones, 23, of Tamaqua, was driving a 2006 Saturn VUE at 3:48 p.m. on Dec. 8 along Route 309, Lynn Township, when it collided with a 2006 Ford Escort driven by Daniel L. Moyer, 31, of Andreas.
According to police, Jones was southbound on Route 309, just south of Route 143, when she apparently lost control of her SUV, which crossed the double yellow line and entered the northbound lane of Route 309.
Police say Moyer was driving in the northbound lane of Route 309, at the time of impact.
His car came to a controlled rest on the eastern shoulder of the roadway, just north of Route 143, facing north.
The SUV came to a final rest within the center median of Route 309, facing southwest, police say.
Police allege Jones was drving too fast for the ice- and snow-covered road.
The two drivers, who police say were wearing seat belts, were uninjured.
Jones was cited for driving her vehicle at an unsafe speed.
