Dinner delights! The Germansville Fire Company is taking orders for its fabulous, old-fashioned potato filling and hot bacon dressing just in time for Christmas.

Place orders no later than Dec. 21 by calling 610-767-4400.

Orders are sold by the pound, and serve approximately two people.

To have a little left over for the next day, be sure to order plenty.

Bring containers for filling to the upstairs kitchen of the fire company 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 24.

With the fire company in mind, have you purchased your reflective house marker numbers yet?

If not, call the fire company at 610-767-7757 and leave name, address and phone number and someone will get back to you.

The numbers not only make a perfect Christmas present but are also very important for identifying your house in case of an emergency.

Also at this time, the fire company is holding a membership drive.

As with your dues, donations toward the truck fund or to the fire company itself may be sent to Goodwill Fire Company, P.O. Box 69, Germansville, PA 18053.

That's the spirit! On Dec. 23, Heidelberg Union Church members will be packing Christmas baskets at 6 p.m. for the less than fortunate in our area.

If you would like to lend a hand by packing the boxes, or if you know of a neighboring family or individual in need, call Joan Hein at 610-767-6557.

Spread the word! All are welcome to attend Heidelberg Union Church's 8 p.m. Christmas Eve service. The UCC service will be at 11 p.m.

A musical prelude will begin at 7:40 p.m., followed by the service of worship.

Special inspirational music will be provided, with traditional scripture lessons read.

The union service will conclude with the lighting of candles.

Refreshments will be served between services for those attending both.

If inclement weather results in the need to cancel worship services or Sunday School at Heidelberg Church, tune in to radio station WAEB 790 AM or WFMZ TV 69.
