On Dec. 13, the first-grade students of Mrs. Flamisch and Mrs. Labezius were visited by Catasauqua Police Officer Wiseman and his canine partner, Jack. The students learned about community helpers. Thanks to both for taking time to help educate the students of Sheckler.

Please be advised that due to the weather and school being closed on Dec. 10 and Dec. 17,. Thursday, Jan. 2, and Friday, Jan. 3 will now be scheduled school days for students and staff to make up the snow days.

The fourth-grade holiday program, "A World of Christmas," will take place on Dec. 19 on Sheckler's stage. Featured in the program will be the fourth-grade band as well as the entire fourth-grade class, singing for families and friends in the audience. Admission is free. The concert begins at 7 p.m.

Classroom holiday festivities for students will take place on Dec. 19 as students the wait the arrival of a special visitor from the North Pole. Can you guess who that may be?

On Dec. 20 students in grade 1-4 will be dismissed at noon. Morning kindergarten students will be dismissed at 11:25 a.m. There will be no school this day for afternoon kindergarten classes.

School will be closed from Dec. 23-Jan. 1 for the holiday break. Classes will now resume on Jan. 2, 2014.
