The Salisbury High School Key Club Holiday Party, held for students in grades kindergarten through fifth, has been rescheduled to Dec. 21 due to inclement weather. To register your child, or for more information, contact Kate Rossetti at krossettistsd.org.

The Dale Carnegie Generation Next leadership course is provided for students in grades nine through 12, focusing on enhancing an array of skills from public speaking skills to stress management. Participation leaves the student with multiple college benefits including eligibility for college credits.

Sixty scholarships are offered to students in Lehigh and Berks counties on a first-come, first-served basis. The application deadline for the program is Dec. 20, and the application and additional information can be accessed in the guidance office.

Registration for the Feb. 8, 2014, ACT must be completed by Jan. 10, 2014, in order to avoid late fees. Registration for the Jan. 25, 2014, SAT must be completed by Dec. 27. On Dec. 14, the SHS chorus and band held their annual winter concert. The night commenced with the traditional singing of "One Candle" by the chorus members. Choral and band director Rachel Reinecke started the tradition in 2008 and carried the tradition through her transition to the high school.

The newly established a cappella group, "Descant Get Enough," performed two songs. The SHS concert band followed and the night ended with block chorus.

SHS juniors presented their graduation projects Dec. 11 and 13. Due to numerous weather issues this past week, adjustments were made to accommodate the student presentations. A weather-induced 2-hour delay (originally having been set for graduation projects) occurred Dec. 12. Despite the stressors, many presenters received "successful" or "highly successful" scores.
