Minivan hits
deer in Lynn
State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Rebecca E. Myers, 40, of New Tripoli, was driving a 2005 Honda Odessey minivan west on Route 309 at approximately 50 mph when it struck a deer at 8:29 p.m. Dec. 2 on Route 309, Lynn Township.
As the minivan approached the driveway of 6788 Route 309, a deer that was running north darted into the road.
The minivan struck the deer with its front bumper, before coming to a final rest on the right shoulder of roadway, north of the driveway.
The deer landed in the right shoulder in front of the minivan.
Myers, who police say was wearing her seat belt, was uninjured.
Jeep, Equinox
collide in Lowhill
Tyler J. Silverstein, 18, of Macungie, was driving a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee south on Kernsville Road, Lowhill Township, at 3:40 p.m. on Dec. 2, as Cheryl A. Durich, 45, of Walnutport, was driving a 2009 Chevrolet Equinox northbound.
Police say for unknown reasons as the Jeep neared 6607 Kernsville Road it traveled into the northbound lane directly into the path of the Equinox.
After the Equinox crested a hill, the front end of the Jeep hit its front end.
The impact caused the Jeep to travel slightly backward before coming to a final rest, partially off the roadway, facing southwest.
The Equinox also traveled slightly backward, from the initial point of impact, until it came to rest, partially off the roadway, facing southeast.
Both drivers, who police say were wearing their seat belts, were transported by Northern Valley Emergency Medical Services to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Silverstein was charged with careless driving, police say.
