A 23-year-old Slatington man was killed when the vehicle he was driving struck a tree and rolled over 10:36 p.m. Dec. 6 on Route 329, North Whitehall Township.
Zachary A. Paules of 1305 Oakhurst Drive, Slatington, was pronounced dead 11:38 p.m. at the scene by Lehigh County Deputy Coroner Craig Hanzl, Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim said.
Grim said the cause of death was blunt force injuries. He ruled the manner of death accidental.
State Police Troop M Bethlehem say Paules was driving a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee west on Route 329 when the vehicle went off the roadway and partially into a ditch at Crest Street. The Jeep started to overturn as it struck a large tree and came to final rest on its roof.
Route 329 was closed at Crest Street for approximately four-and-a-half hours during the investigation.
