Hit-and-run accident
A Bethlehem man died of injuries sustained in what police are calling a hit-and-run accident along Hamilton Boulevard, also Route 222 southbound, near Kessler Road, Lower Macungie Township, Nov. 29. Michael J. Mason, 36, of 214 Ninth St., was pronounced dead at 8:28 p.m., according to a news release from the Lehigh County Coroner's office. An autopsy Dec. 2 found Mason died of multiple blunt force trauma. The manner of death remains under investigation. According to police, a passing motorist found a man on the shoulder of the road with severe injuries shortly after 7:15 p.m. Nov. 29. The man was described as wearing a reflective safety vest and dark clothing at the time he was found. Lehigh Deputy Coroner Craig Hanzl pronounced Mason dead at the scene. Authorities determined Mason was a pedestrian. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.
Possession of weapon
A 13-year-old male, of Macungie, is accused of possession of a weapon on school property after he allegedly had a knife in his possession while at Eyer Middle School, 5616 Buckeye Road, Lower Macungie Township, 8:02 a.m. Nov. 19. No threats or injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.
Retail theft
An unidentified man took a television valued at $209.88 from Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 4:57 p.m. Nov. 28. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.
A 17-year-old male, of Macungie, and an 18-year-old male, of Macungie, were taken into custody and charged with retail theft and possession of controlled substances after they allegedly were seen concealing merchandise and attempting to exit Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 2:26 a.m. Nov. 28. Charges will be filed in District Court 31-3-02.
Criminal mischief
Reported in the 7000 block of Periwinkle Drive, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors cut 40 strands of Christmas lights with an unknown object between midnight and 6 a.m. Dec. 2. Anyone with information may contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.
Criminal mischief
Reported in the 6300 block of Woodlawn Drive, Upper Milford Township, unknown actors dented a garage door between 7:30 a.m. and 4:40 p.m. Dec. 4.
Theft by deception
Reported by Urology Specialists, 5018 Medical Center Circle, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors created multiple fraudulent payroll checks from a closed account and cashed the checks at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, in November.
Control of alarm and automatic dialing services
Wawa, 4900 Hamilton Blvd., Lower Macungie Township, was charged with control of alarm and automatic dialing services after police responded four times within 12 consecutive months to alleged false alarms at the convenience store. Charges were filed in District Court 31-3-02.
Terroristic threats
A resident of Lower Macungie Township reported an unknown actor using a 717 area code phone number called and wanted $2,000 in damages for an alleged incident involving a family member of the local resident, 10:25 a.m. Dec. 4. The unknown actor attempted to scam the money from the township resident by fabricating a story the resident's family member was in danger. Pennsylvania State Police want to raise awareness about such telephone scams.
Theft
Reported in the 5600 block of Acorn Drive, Upper Milford Township, unknown actors took a water heater from a residence between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. Dec. 4.
DUI
David Wilson, 42, of Gilbertsville, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after he was stopped for an alleged traffic violation southbound on Route 100 north of Buckeye Road, in Macungie borough, 12:31 a.m. Dec. 8.
