Donald K. Heil

Donald K. Heil, 85, of Macungie, died Dec. 6, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the husband of Marian M. (Hertzog) Heil, with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Born in Macungie, he was the son of the late James B. and Verna (Kerchner) Heil.

He was a truck driver for 42 years, driving for Allentown Modern Transfer and Roadway Express, retiring in 1993.

He honorably served his country in the Army during World War II.

He was a member of Solomon's United Church of Christ, the Macungie VFW and the Macungie Fire Company.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Renae D. and her husband Rev. Bruce Weaknecht, of Egg Harbor, N.J. and Denise M. and her husband Bradley Ford, of Canada; brothers, Harold and his wife Lorraine, of Pennsburg, Jacob and his wife Myrle, of Macungie, and James, of Egypt; sister, Dorothy and her husband Herbert Rohrbach, of Alburtis; grandchildren, Joshua D. Weaknecht and his wife Carrie Ann, Dr. Marissa L. and her husband Brice Ambron, Gretchen J. Weaknecht, Donald P. Ford and his wife Kimberly, and Christopher B. Ford and his wife Catherine; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Aaron Weaknecht. He was predeceased by an infant son; sister, Lillian Heller.
