There are many Christmas decorations that symbolize the Christmas season. Santa Claus reminds us of St. Nicholas who secretly gave gifts to the poor. Candy canes represent shepherds' crooked staffs they used when they walked to the stable. Ornaments are a European custom. Long ago they were made from dough.
As a reminder to thank the Lord for our daily bread, it is said, that according to German folklore, tinsel strands were really miracuously transformed spider webs.
Have yourself and your family a merry blessed Christmas and a new year filled with hope, love and joy.
