Copper stolen
in Weisenberg Twp
State Police Troop M Fogelsville say multiple types of copper were stolen off vehicles, the ground and locked storage bins sometime between 4:30 p.m. Nov. 25 and 5:30 p.m. the next day from the Met-Ed property in the 2100 block of Echo Cove Court, Weisenberg Towsnhip.
Lehighton men
taken into custody
State Police Troop M Fogelsville say Ryan Michael Mucka, 23, of Lehighton, was allegedly driving under the influence of a controlled substance 2:19 p.m. Nov. 15 on Old Route 22, east of Bartholomew Court, Weisenberg Township.
Police allege Mucka and Gary Lee Giehl, 23, also from Lehighton, both had small clear plastic bags of suspected marijuana in their possession.
Mucka also allegedly had a glass smoking device, police say.
Mucka and Giehl were taken into custody and charges were filed through District Judge Rod Beck, Slatington.
Vehicle overturns
in Lynn Twp
State Police Troop M Fogelsville say James E. Bachman, 42, of New Tripoli, was driving east on Holben's Valley Road in the right lane, just east of Rabbit Run Road, in a 1988 Audi A4 when he failed to negotiate a right curve in the roadway and entered the westbound lane just after 1 a.m. Nov. 26.
The car traveled approximately 60 feet east in the westbound lane, before entering the eastbound lane and traveling approximately 42 feet southwest.
It then began to turn counterclockwise and hit a dirt embankment on the south shoulder of the eastbound lane, police say.
The car continued to travel east on the dirt embankment approximately 51 feet when it struck a cement drainage ditch and overturned onto its roof.
It then traveled approximately 30 feet northeast on the south shoulder, before re-entering the eastbound lane and traveling approximately 48 feet northeast to point of final rest, police say.
Both Bachman and his passenger Camille L. Werley, 44, of Slatedale, who were wearing their seat belts, were injured.
They were transported by Northwestern Ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Police say a legal blood draw was conducted at the hospital and charges are pending the results.
Bachman was charged with driving at an unsafe speed.
Weisenberg Fire Company and Soley's Towing assisted at the scene.
Man charged
with harassment
State Police Troop M Bethlehem say Edward Brian Snyder, 37, of Upper Black Eddy, allegedly placed his hands on the lower waist of a 17-year-old girl subjecting her to unwanted physical contact 6:10 p.m. Nov. 21 in the 8000 block of Ashfield Road, Washington Township.
He was charged with harassment with District Judge Rod Beck, Slatington.
Driver involved in one-vehicle crash
State Police Troop M Bethlehem say Charles J. Cunfer, 53, of Slatington, was driving a 2001 Jeep Cherokee when it was involved in a crash 1:37 a.m. Nov. 16 hitting a fence and mailbox in front of a home at 7444 County Bridge Road, Washington Township.
According to police, Cunfer allegedly fled the scene and again left the roadway and crashed at the intersection of Lovers Lane.
Police say he was allegedly driving under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.
Cunfer was transported by Northern Valley EMS to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, to be evaluated for injuries and a legal blood draw.
Charges will be filed with District Judge Rod Beck, Slatington, pending the results of the blood draw, police say.
