LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

STUDENT OF THE WEEK Grace Bova

Q: What grade are you in?

A: I'm in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q: What is your favorite subject? Why?

A: My favorite subject is physics because of how mentally engaging it is. Physics is not one of those classes where you just sit there and take notes. It always requires a lot of thinking and problem solving, which has always appealed to me. Plus my teacher, Mr. Ohl, really knows how to make the difficult subject more enjoyable to learn.

Q: Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A: I am currently president of National Honor Society as well as a member of both the National Latin Honor Society and National Spanish Honor Society. I received a second place award in the Delaware Valley Science Fair and Maxima Cum Laude on the National Latin Exam. I also received the Outstanding Academic Excellence award each year in high school and have been on the Principal's honor roll every semester.

Q: Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A: I swim for Emmaus and dance year round. I'm on the high school swim team and a member of the hiking club and Key Club. I've also been involved in my church's youth group throughout high school.

Q: What is your next goal after high school?

A: I want to go to college and major in biomedical engineering and eventually go on to medical school.

Q: What would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?

A: Not comparing myself to my peers. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. I've learned to be satisfied knowing I did the best I could regardless of anyone else's performance.

Q: What do you want to be remembered for?

A: I want to be remembered for having a good sense of humor and being a positive person to be around.

Q: Who is in your family?

A: My mom, Maggie and dad, Jim, my sister Audrey and two brothers, Evan and Patrick. I also have a dog named Riley.

Q: Do you have someone you look up to?

A: I look up to my mom because she always has a lot of stuff to do but she never loses her head. She knows how to be busy and still have time to relax and enjoy herself.

Q: Do you have any advice for your peers?

A: Have fun. Make schoolwork a priority but don't sacrifice every other social aspect of being a teenager. You need to have balance in your life.
