Mrs. Fisher and the CLIU 21 student forum are collecting items for the residents of the Weatherwood Nursing Home. All donations are greatly appreciated. It really means a lot to the residents of the nursing home and gives them a feeling of not being forgotten during the holidays. Fliers are posted in the school, listing some of the acceptable items or you can speak to Mrs. Fisher, Ashleigh Tomcics, Zack DeCamp, Jacob Rusnock or Spencer Phillips for additional assistance. Donations can be dropped off in Mrs. Fisher's room, B216 before Dec. 16.

Anyone interested in going on the trip to Christkindlmarkt in Bethlehem on Dec. 13 must pick up a permission slip from Frau Haney in Room 221. All signed permission slips must be returned no later than Dec. 4. The cost of the trip is $7. German Club members may use the money in their account from the sale of advent calendars to pay for the trip. Participants must return the permission slip and pay for the trip by Dec. 4 to guarantee yourself a seat on the bus.

Schools in the Catasauqua Area School District will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday from Thursday, Nov. 28, through Monday, Dec. 2.

While surrounded by family and friends on Thanksgiving Day I hope everyone takes a minute to think about what they are thankful for. Are you thankful for your home, your income, your family and friends, your failures and successes, your tears and laughter, possibly your health, maybe your job and especially your freedom? Maybe you are thankful for your material possessions.

Being thankful means we are grateful. May there be a place in your heart for those less fortunate than yourself. So while it's true that Thanksgiving only comes once a year, we should celebrate what we are thankful for each and every day. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday.
