The 31st Annual Sheckler Elementary School Thanksgiving Dinner, Dress Up Day and Food Drive will be held Thursday, Nov. 21. This event gives parents and siblings the opportunity to come to Sheckler and have lunch together. The Thanksgiving Dinner is for students in grades 1-4 only.

Forms were sent home concerning lunch prices and times for each grade level on this day. All guests are asked to report to the gym to meet their child and then enter the cafeteria. During the Thanksgiving dinner a food drive will be going on as well. Collections will be donated to the Catasauqua Area Community Food Bank to help local families over the holidays. Any nonperishable items or canned goods you wish to donate should be sent in with your child before or on the day of the food drive. All donations are greatly appreciated for this worthy cause.

Please be advised Parent-Teacher Conferences for grades 1-4 will take place on Nov. 22-27. Students will be dismissed at noon on these days and kindergarten classes will be on modified schedule. Morning kindergarten students will meet 8:50 to 10:30 a.m. and afternoon kindergarten students from 11:40 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

No lunches will be served during these early dismissal days. Please be sure to make arrangements for after-school child care on early dismissal days if needed.

Students in the fourth grade band will have a rehearsal Nov 20 at 8:10 a.m. at Sheckler.
