STUDENT OF THE WEEK Robert Wang
Q: What grade are you in?
A: I am in 12th grade at Emmaus High School.
Q: What is your favorite subject? Why?
A: My favorite subject is physics. I really like how this year we're learning about how the equations we learned last year work. In addition, I enjoy learning the mechanics of the machines like pulleys and springs.
Q: Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A: I've received a few awards in math and engineering, most notably an engineering competition at Bucknell University where our team placed highly in nationals.
Q: Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?
A: I am a part of the tennis team and enjoy all of the activities involved, whether it be goofing around playing tennis, volleyball or playing in a serious match.
Q: What is your next goal after high school?
A: After high school, I plan on going to college and then earn my degrees after that.
Q: What would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?
A: My biggest challenge so far is definitely all of the schoolwork in addition to college preparations. And with all this work, time management is a huge issue. I find that I run out of hours in the day to finish all that I want to.
Q: What do you want to be remembered for?
A: I want to be remembered as a kid who does well in class and loves to have fun.
Q: Who is in your family?
A: My mom is Jun, my dad is Lee and I have an older sister named Shirley.
Q: Do you have someone you look up to?
A: I look up to my dad. He's an electrical engineer, which is the field I wish to study in the future. I've seen him work on his products before, and I was really interested. He also taught me many other valuable skills too, like driving.
Q: Do you have any advice for your peers?
A: Some advice I have for my peers is to do the best you can. You can't do any better than your best.
