EHS students excel in sports, theater production

Congratulations to the field hockey team for winning their 25th district title in a row, to the girls volleyball and boys soccer teams for placing second in districts and to the girls cross-country team for placing 17th at the state level.

Congratulations also to the cast and crew of Pride and Prejudice on a successful show.

Last week, 50 parking permits for juniors were released in a live lottery drawing during extended homeroom. Parking is first and foremost a senior privilege; however, due to the current availability of parking, the administration raffled off a select number of spots to students with valid drivers licenses and no disciplinary violations.

On Nov. 18, auditions for the spring musical Beauty and the Beast will begin. Forms may be obtained on the drama department website.

Senior girls sported their "Senioritas" shirts, thanks to senior Kellyann Ross who finalized the design and organized the ordering and distribution of shirts. Two years ago Ross's sister organized the "Seniorellas" shirt and last year's shirt was all about "Seniority." According to Ross, each year a senior girl takes on the responsibility of making the shirts for the class.

The counseling department would like to remind seniors, as college admission application deadlines are approaching, to check email and Naviance accounts for information from counselors to ensure requested materials such as transcripts and recommendation letters have been sent.

EHS is looking to purchase a new electronic sign for the corner of Macungie Avenue and North Street through fundraising from Giant A+ Rewards and Bottom Dollar Classroom Connections. Register your membership cards to help the school by emailing your last name, email address, and 11-digit Giant or 12-digit Bottom Dollar rewards card number to cwhite@eastpennsd.org.

The Earth Watch Club is offering paper recycling for both the high school and the surrounding Emmaus community via green and yellow collection bins located in lot G outside of the cafeteria and science wing. The club cannot take phone books, plastic (including plastic bags), cardboard, glass or aluminum. The school will earn money per ton of recyclables collected.
