Couple celebrates

50th wedding anniversary

Joseph and Barbara (Godek) Jurnock of Allentown celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. They were married Aug. 31, 1963, by the Rev. Joseph Janik in St. Stanislaus Polish National Catholic Church, Scranton.

Barbara is the daughter of the late John and Lottie Godek, who had resided in Scranton.

Joseph is the son of the late Joseph and Olga Jurnock, who had resided in Taylor, Lackawanna County.

They are the parents of two children: Sharon, wife of Anthony Seritsky of Catasauqua, and Mark, who is deceased.

They have four grandchildren: Marcus and Jasmine Seritsky, both of Catasauqua, and Marissa and Braedon Jurnock-Kulick, both of Anthem, Ariz.

The Jurnocks celebrated their anniversary Sept. 1 at a Mass during which they renewed their wedding vows at Our Lord's Ascension Polish National Catholic Church, Bethlehem, followed by a dinner reception at Holy Family Club, Nazareth.

A vacation trip is planned in 2014.
