The Lehigh Valley Christian High School sports teams have been doing extremely well. The boys soccer team made it to district competition against Schuylkill Haven High Scholl Oct. 28. Even though the team lost 3-0, many of the teachers, parents and students who came to cheer the players on said they played the best they had all season.
Our cross country team also made it to district competition. The boys team came in fourth place in the A division, only five points behind Shenandoah Valley, the third-place team. Steven Holden set a personal record of 19 minutes and 30 seconds at the district meet and was nine seconds away from going to the state cross country meet. It is expected he, along with other members of our team, will qualify for state level competition next year.
Our three senior girls ran individually, but had great races.
The fall sports banquet will be held Nov. 15. Basketball practices and winter conditioning for spring sports will start soon.

Oct. 26 was our first craft fair. Vendors sold scarves, necklaces, bags and candles and the LVC snack shop was open for the day, along with a bake sale. This event is expected to progress in the future with more sellers and buyers.

Nov. 1 was our outreach day, when students went out into the community in groups, with teachers, and served others. Some went to different elementary schools or churches to help clean up or teach children. Others went to the CareNet Crisis Pregnancy Center, Push the Rock, Habitat for Humanity or a local homeless shelter.

Some of our students will be helping serve at the Lehigh Valley Prayer Breakfast Nov. 12. Others will attend the Silver Ring Thing at Cedar Crest Bible Fellowship Church Nov. 13. This is an event challenging teens to make a commitment to moral purity.
