The Emmaus High School Drama Department will open its 2013-2014 theater season with "Pride and Prejudice," Jon Jory's adaptation of the classic novel by Jane Austen, bringing to the stage one of the most cherished love stories in English literature.
Elizabeth Bennet's pride leads her to misjudge Fitzwilliam Darcy on the basis of a poor first impression, while Darcy's prejudice against Elizabeth's lower social standing initially blinds him to her many virtues. Both characters must come to terms with their pride and prejudice in order to realize their true love.
Cast members include Sawyer Long as Darcy; Bryce Haines as Bingley; Lauren Mulcahy as Mrs. Bennet; Chris Mikus as Mr. Bennet; Victoria Reichelderfer as Jane Bennet; Katie Gigler as Elizabeth Bennet; Sarah Holderith as Mary Bennet; Abigail Mauro as Kitty Bennet; Julia Bezems as Lydia Bennet; Peter Heinmets as Wickham; Matthew Johnston as Collins; Megan Jibilian as Lady Catherine; Katie Hanna as Mrs. Gardiner; Andrew Ferguson as Mr. Gardiner; Gwyn Pacheco as Miss Bingley; Cassie McCabe as Charlotte Lucas; Nick Quinn as Col. Fitzwilliam; Bailey Myers as Sir Lucas; Kristen Turner as Housekeeper; and MaryKate Thornton as Georgiana/ball guest.
Members of the Ensemble (officers/ball guests/servants) include Colt Barron, Hattie Barnes, Greg Frederick, Gabby Galante, Justin Griesel, Garret Hoffman, Steven Hurlbutt, Austin Kaplan, Robert Lynn, Chloe Mathieu, Cathy Ritter and Nicki Zelenak.
The production is directed by Jill Kuebler.
Performances will be held in the EHS auditorium 7 p.m. Nov. 7, 8 and 9. Tickets are available in the EHS main office and will also be available at the door.
EPSD Gold Card holders must present gold cards in the EHS main office prior to the performance dates to receive a complimentary ticket for any performance.
