Ronald McDonald visited Alburtis Elementary School Oct. 24, to kickoff the "It's Book Time" program, stressing the benefits of reading in an exciting and entertaining way to all students, grades kindergarten through fifth.

By entering the stage on a unicycle and balancing three books, McDonald immediately captured the children's attention and kept it by using magic, music, puppets, storytelling and stunts with lots of dialogue to keep the children laughing.

"When you get home from school you should take book time every day. Books are our friends," McDonald said. "I'll tell you a secret. Reading is more fun when you read with excitement."

This entertaining and enlightening show lasted about 45 minutes and from their reactions, was thoroughly enjoyed by the students and teachers.
