The Borough and Lehigh elementary school PTAs will meet 6:30 p.m. Nov. 4.

The Borough meeting will take place at the Siegfried Building and Lehigh meets at the school.

George Wolf and Moore elementary schools will hold their PTA meetings at 7 p.m. Nov. 5.

The middle school book fair is under way and runs through tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 1.

Students will have the opportunity to purchase a number of great books.

The end of first marking period was Tuesday, Oct. 29.

Elementary school report cards will be distributed Nov. 12.

Parents with questions should contact their child's teacher.

The Northampton Area High School will host a presentation 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Dr. Mary Ann Swiatek will present "Academic and Social Issues in Educating Gifted Students – A Gifted Overview."

This is an exceptional opportunity for parents of gifted students to learn while interacting with a recognized authority on gifted education.

Swiatek, who has authored a number of publications on gifted education, is a licensed psychologist experienced with the Study of Mathematically Precocious Youth (SMPY), Key interests in educational methods (especially acceleration and ability grouping) and psychosocial issues.
