October events at Parkland Community Library include "My Smart Hands" parent workshop on ASL, signing for hearing babies presented by Dena Ruege of My Smart Hands 6-8 p.m. Oct. 30.
Reservation required. Class is limit to 10. Participants will receive a book and CD to take home.
Join them for a screening of a not-so-scary movie night 6:30 p.m. on Oct 31 .

Come to a Halloween parade Oct. 26 at the Greenawalds Fire Company, 2500 Focht Ave.
Firehouse opens at noon for costume registration. Judging starts 12:30 p.m. Parade will take place rain or shine.
Enjoy food and fun for all. Bake sale and a shorter parade route this year.

Come to the fall festival 6-8 p.m. (rain or shine) Oct. 27 at First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, Tilghman Street, in the parking lot.
All ages, non-members, members, friends and neighbors are invited to attend.
There will be games and activities for children of all ages.
Trunks of cars will be decorated and filled with goodies for trunk-or-treating. There will be snacks, other fun and a costume parade.
Costumes for the event are optional.
Be thoughtful of younger children. No scary or gory costumes.

Allentown AARP Chapter 5415 will meet noon Nov. 7 at St. Timothy's Church.
Speaker will be Joanne Hoodmaker, who will give a presentation on the Titanic and have artifacts from the Titanic on display. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Bring a non-perishable food item for the Allentown Food Bank.
