STUDENT OF THE WEEK Stephen Wimble
Q: What grade are you in?
A: I am currently a senior at Emmaus High School.
Q: What is your favorite subject? Why?
A: My favorite subject would have to be chorale, because singing is a passion of mine and being allowed to do it for a class is like a dream come true.
Q: Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A: Looking back on my life I don't recall receiving any award. To me this just proves that even if you're not recognized with medals and papers, you can still end up achieving great things.
Q: Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?
A: I am currently historian of my high school's drama department. I sing in Select, my school's Christmas chorus and I am also involved in a group at my school called Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Outside of school, I sing in my church's youth band.
Q: What is your next goal after high school?
A: After high school I plan to seek a bachelor's degree from Caim University in the field of elementary education. From there I wish to pursue a life of preparing future generations to have a positive impact on their society and culture.
Q: What would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?
A: My biggest challenge so far has been trying to balance all my extracurricular activities and my schoolwork at the same time. On top of that I get distracted easily.
Q: What do you want to be remembered for?
A: I want to be remembered for always having a smile on my face and being there to listen to people when they need me.
Q: Who is in your family?
A: My family consists of my father, Mark and my mother, Cathy; my brothers, Caleb, Joshua, Daniel, David and Jonathan and along with them I have my cat Sabrina and a dog named Chester.
Q: Do you have someone you look up to?
A: The person I look up to most would have to be my Aunt Margaret who's been the most godly person in my life ever since I was born. She has shown me how to live life with a touch of gentleness, compassion and wisdom. I wouldn't be where I am today without her.
Q: Do you have any advice for your peers?
A: Being mocked or judged by people is hard. The solution is simple, ignore them. I wore a duck backpack in school this year because I liked it so much. I got tons of teasing and mocking but I ignored it and ended up enjoying my bag. Learn to rise above the negative comments of others and be yourself.
