Simple assault

Timothy D. Ritter, 54, of Furnace Street, Emmaus, was arrested and charged with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly punched a woman and pulled her hair during a domestic altercation Aug.18.

Brian A. Stafford, 34, of Keystone Avenue, Emmaus, was arrested and charged with simple assault and harassment after he allegedly struck a woman in the mouth, during a domestic altercation Sept. 9.

Fraud reported

Three separate restaurants in the borough reported contact by a collection agency demanding payment for PPL Electric Utilities bills in default. PPL was contacted and verified the accounts were current and a collection agency was not acting on behalf of the company.

Theft from vehicles

Emmaus Police Department officials continue to warn residents to lock their cars and not leave valuables in their cars.

Indecent exposure reported

Two teenage girls reported they were walking in the area of Tenth and Walnut streets 10:40 p.m. Oct. 11 when a white male in his 50s turned toward them with his pants down. The girls fled to a residence and called police. The man was described as wearing an orange shirt and a baseball cap.

Public drunkenness

Brian J. Henry, 32, of Bethlehem, was cited for public drunkenness 8 p.m. Oct. 6 after police responded to a report of an allegedly intoxicated and unconscious man at Weis Markets, 1220 Chestnut St. Henry was taken to the hospital for an alcohol overdose.

DUI checkpoint

On Sept. 27, the Emmaus Police Department, in conjunction with Lehigh County Team DUI, conducted a traffic checkpoint in the 1300 block of Chestnut Street in the borough. Approximately five hundred vehicles were involved in the checkpoint.

Police tested at least 20 drivers and nine of those stopped were later processed for driving under the influence. One of the DUI arrests included narcotics. A separate driver of the nine arrested for DUI was underage.

A separate traffic arrest was made for driving with a suspended driver's license. A separate non-traffic arrest was made for underage drinking.

Whitehouse, 45, of Minor Street, Emmaus, Neil Carl, 60, of Rose Drive, Emmaus, Dean F. Herber, 34, of Warren Street, Allentown, Allan Shelton, 49, of East Main Street, Macungie, Michael Szankovics, 39, of North Third Street, Emmaus, Ryan J. Caverly, 23, of Watermill Drive, Macungie, Cody K. Brendlinger, 27, of Kings Highway North, Emmaus, and Vincent T. Daily, 20, of Riverbend Road, Allentown.
