Newly hired Catasauqua High School Assistant Principal Jason Magditch has a passion for setting a positive example for today's youth.
This passion is what led Magditch, originally from Nazareth, to teaching.
"I wanted to be a leader and inspiration to those who maybe thought they could not succeed," he said.
After teaching business education at Easton High School and serving as the health and physical education director and disciplinarian at Phillipsburg High School, he decided to take the plunge into serving a high school at its highest levels.
He most recently served three years as the assistant principal at William Allen High School. His move from teaching to serving as an assistant principal was the result of his wanting to further shape and mold students.
"I wanted to not only lead students but an entire building," he said. "I wanted to help those around me make a difference and offer support for all."
Magditch said he wants to see CHS continue its many successes and work to inspire students to persevere in their studies and in life.
He said the opportunities are limitless at CHS and within the district, and he is excited to be a Roughie.
"I am very happy and grateful to be a part of the Catasauqua Area School District and its community," he said.
Magditch holds an associate's degree in business management from Northampton Community College, a bachelor of science in finance from DeSales University and a master's in education from Wilkes University.
He is currently pursuing a doctorate from Lehigh University.
