Moore Elementary School will honor local veterans and active military personnel at its second annual Veterans Day ceremony Monday, Nov. 11, at the school.

The school is looking for veterans and active military men and women interested in talking with small groups of children.

George Wolf Elementary School fall picture day will take place tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 27.

All student pictures will be taken, but purchasing prints is optional.

Northampton PAGE (Pennsylvania Association for Gifted Education) will hold Meet the Teacher Night 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at the Northampton Area High School library.

Parents of identified gifted students are invited to meet the gifted support teachers and guidance counselors working with their children.

Presentations will be divided into breakout sessions by grade level.

Since this is the first formal NPAGE event of the school year, the meeting will include a brief discussing of NPAGE activities for the remainder of this school year.

The NASD Lacing Up For Kids event really needs runners for its community 5K and 10K runs on Oct. 5.

The races start at 9 a.m. and are open to the public. One takes place at Siegfried Elementary School, Northampton, and the other takes place at the high school.

Check-in will begin at 7:30 a.m. Only runners registered by Sept. 21 will receive a free pair of texting gloves.

Prizes will be awarded for overall and age-group winners.

Refreshments will be provided to all runners.

The event is sponsored by Northampton Area Konkrete Kids Educational Foundation and Angel 34.
