Meet the Teacher Night at Gockley will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. tonight, Thursday, Sept. 26, at the school.

This is a great opportunity for parents to visit their child's school, become more familiar with the building and meet their child's teacher.

The middle school box tops competition will begin very soon.

Families are encouraged to begin collecting BoxTops for Education, found on General Mills products.

The middle school will hold a friendly competition between homerooms. Students will bring home more information soon.

Middle school warning cards will be issued by Oct. 1.

Be sure to openly communicate with your child about education and school activities.

If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher.

Picture Day at Steckel Elementary School will be held Thursday, Oct. 3.

Students will bring home more information along with order forms.

All students will have their pictures taken, but purchasing prints is optional.

The PTO trip New York City for the Holiday Shopping and Lights Tour is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 7.

The spirit of Christmas is more than alive in New York City. When it comes to holiday fun, no city does it quite like New York.

From midtown and Rockefeller Center, participants can take a stroll on Fifth Avenue, take a carriage ride through Central Park and visit Bloomingdale's, Apple's famed underground store or FAO Schwarz.

At each stop, information will be provided about stores and sights nearby. Maps will be provided.

After the tours, participants will head downtown to enjoy Little Italy for more shopping and dinner.
