Hokendauqua Park & Playground (HPPA) boys and girls basketball registration will be held at the Hokendauqua American Legion, 3739 American Legion Drive, Whitehall, 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26; Tuesday, Oct. 1; and Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Coaches and those interested in coaching are asked to attend the Oct. 8 meeting.

The registration form may be downloaded and completed before coming to the legion for sign-ups. When registering, bring a copy of your child's birth certificate, health insurance and contact information including phone numbers and email address.

Faith Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, will hold a Blessing of Pets ceremony Sunday, Oct. 13, beginning at 2 p.m. in Parker Hall, in the lower level of the church.

The public is welcome to bring Fido, Tabby or other pets.

The Whitehall Food Pantry, located at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Mechanicsville Road, is always in need of food donations, and will need more, especially as Thanksgiving nears.

Drop your donations off at the pantry or at any of our local houses of worship.
