Central Catholic High School has several upcoming opportunities for its freshmen and their parents to meet each other and better understand the school.
On Sept. 19, Central will host its freshman retreat. Retreats are a vital part of the CCHS mission and a foundation of campus ministry.
The "Beginning the Spiritual Journey" retreat is only for the Viking Class of 2017 and will be a fun chance for freshmen to meet one another. Students will also enjoy pizza, games and be able to enjoy the evening with their fellow classmates.
The freshman open house, 6 p.m. Sept. 26, will give parents of new freshmen the chance to "walk through" their students' schedule and meet their sons' or daughters' teachers and school administrators.
During the event parents are able to gain a better understanding of the average day of a Central Catholic freshman. Teachers review their curriculums, class policies, expectations of students, their availability to provide extra help, as well as how best to contact them with any questions or concerns arising during the year. Parents also learn about the parent portal, online resources and the technology initiative.
The Booster Club will hold a spirit wear sale in Rockne Gym during the freshman open house and parents can purchase the latest Viking apparel.

The sophomore, junior and senior open house will be held 6 p.m. Oct. 2 and will provide the parents of upperclassmen the same opportunity to interact with the faculty.

Students of all grades can enjoy a variety of Viking junior varsity and varsity sporting events. Information, schedules and locations can be found on the school website, acchs.info under the "Athletics" tab. Athletic events are just one way to meet, greet and cheer on fellow classmates.
