Burglary
Reported at the Indian Creek Golf Club, 1449 Chestnut St., Upper Milford Township, between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Aug. 26, unknown actors removed a window air conditioner from a side window and took a cash register containing about $200 in cash and an Apple iPhone belonging to the business. The actors threw the phone outside and cracked the screen. The unknown actors then fled the scene. Anyone with information is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.
DUI
Daniel Miller, 62, of Breinigsville, is to be charged with suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol after a two-vehicle accident westbound on Interstate 78 at mile marker 60.7, Upper Saucon Township, 10:08 p.m. Sept. 11. Miller allegedly struck the rear of another vehicle which was traveling slowly for traffic in a construction zone. Charges are to be filed in District Court 31-3-03.
Theft
Reported by International Custom Built Homes, in the 5600 block of Covenant Court, Lower Macungie Township, unknown actors cut copper wire and copper pipe from a home under construction between 5 p.m. Aug. 19 and 11 a.m. Aug. 21. The investigation continues.
Theft by deception
Ellen Shimkanon, of Schnecksville, is accused of theft by deception after she allegedly attempted to return stolen merchandise to Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township, 3:42 p.m. Aug. 7. Shimkanon allegedly entered the store with a bag containing several shirts to return with a receipt. However, before returning the shirts, Shimkanon allegedly went to the women's clothing section in the store and removed four pairs of pants from a rack. Shimkanon then allegedly went to customer service to return the shirts and the pants taken from the rack. Shimkanon got cash back for the shirts because she had a receipt. Shimkanon received a store gift card with a value of $57.76 for the pants because she did not have a receipt for those items. Loss prevention personnel stopped Shimkanon when she tried to leave the store.
Found bicycle
A blue, red and silver Schwinn bicycle, model 191RST, was found in the backyard at 6091 Timberknoll Drive, Lower Macungie Township, 8:15 a.m. Sept. 1. Anyone with information is asked to contact Pennsylvania State Police at 610-395-1438.
Simple Assault
Henry Charles Schaffer, 75, of Macungie, was arrested for simple assault after an argument he had with another person allegedly escalated and became physical in the 7300 block of Sauerkraut Lane, Lower Macungie Township,1:26 p.m. Aug. 29. Schaffer was transported to Lehigh County Prison.
Hit and run crash
Ronald Brendan Knoble, 31, of Allentown, and Krystle Marie Crocker, 28, of Allentown, allegedly were riding a 2001 Yamaha motorcycle traveling south on Vera Cruz Road, Upper Milford Township, 7:18 p.m. Aug. 27, when Knoble lost control on a curve. The motorcycle traveled southwest off the road, into a grassy area and rolled onto its side. Knoble and Crocker were thrown from the motorcycle. Knoble allegedly fled the scene. Crocker sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Lehigh Valley Health Network, Cedar Crest, by Macungie Ambulance. Knoble, who also was injured, was later identified. Charges are pending in District Court 31-3-03.
