Northampton Borough Elementary Schools has an acting principal for the 2013-14 school year.

Carol Cunningham was introduced at the Aug. 26 NASD board of education meeting.

The borough elementary schools include Siegfried and Franklin.

Prior to becoming an acting principal, Cunningham has been a math instructional support teacher and head teacher for grades three to six.

Cunningham, in her 31st year as an educator, received a bachelor's degree in education from Kutztown University and principal certification from Cabrini College.

She has been a Catasauqua Area School Board member for 10 years and is vice president of the board. She lives with her husband, Howard, and their two children, Greg and Abby, in Catasauqua.
