North Whitehall
Organized by St. John's United Church of Christ, the third annual community day will take place Sept. 21, at the Laurys Station Fire Company and the adjacent North Whitehall Township athletic fields.
Beginning at 2 p.m., the event includes an antique and classic car show, a Lehigh Valley Hospital MedEvac landing at 3 p.m. and tethered hot air balloon rides 2-4 p.m.
Newhard's Corn Shed will be serving roasted corn on the cob. Country View Farm will have baked potatoes. Bad Bones Barbecue will be on site, St. John's will be selling homemade shoofly pies and the Walking Warriors will have a bake sale.
Boy Scout Troop 144 will present activities and food.
Other highlights will be Bailey's Barnyard, a dog sled demo, dunk tank, moon bounce and Laurys Station historical displays.
Music will be provided by DJ Dave and the Deadliners.
The celebration ends with fireworks at dusk.

St. John's United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, will have a chicken barbecue 4-6:30 p.m. Sept. 14. Take-out will be available until 7 p.m.
The adult meal consists of half a chicken, baked potato, corn on the cob, lettuce with bacon dressing, beverage and dessert.
Children's meal has two drumsticks, macaroni and cheese, applesauce, cookie and beverage.
Tickets may be reserved in advance by calling 610-262-8061, but they may also be purchased at the door.

Schnecksville Fire Company will have its first flea market of the season 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Sept. 15 in the pavilion.
The kitchen will be open.

The Copeechan Fish and Game Club is featuring a night of music by Larry Peters and the Salt Creek bluegrass band 6 p.m. Sept. 21. There is a fee to attend.

After a summer break, volunteers at Northern Valley EMS are beginning a new season of fundraisers.
They are taking orders for 8-inch wet bottom shoofly pies with homemade crusts. Pickup is Sept. 22 and 23.

The Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs will meet at Grouse Hall Fish and Game Association 7:30 p.m. Sept. 19.

Sign-ups are being taken for the Parkland Field Hockey Golf Classic Oct. 13 at Willowbrook Golf Club, Catasauqua.
Organized by the Field Hockey Booster Club, the event will raise funds to help support the Trojan girls team.
Beginning with registration at 8:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m., the day culminates 2 p.m. with a cookout and prizes.
