Zion's Union Church Maxatawny, 329 Church Road, Kutztown, will have its fall festival from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. Sept. 21.
Once again Kauffman's barbecue chickens will be on the menu.

Along with the chicken dinners, families with young children will be hosting a lemonade stand.
There will also be a bake sale, food stand and craft and church flea market.
Call Cheryl Bailey at 610-683-8936 to bake or help at the bake sale table.
All proceeds go to the building fund and furnishings.
To donate items to the church flea market table, bring items to the church 6-8 p.m. Sept. 18 or 19.
Clothing, footwear or furniture are not being accepted.
Volunteers are needed to price items and set up from 6-8 p.m. Sept. 18, 19 and 20.

St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8227 Hamilton Blvd., Trexlertown, will be having a yard sale 8 a.m.-noon on Sept. 14.
The church's Amish horseshoes tournament and pot-luck lunch will take place Sept. 15 following the worship service.

This will be followed by the church picnic.

Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, is accepting orders for take-home meals, quarts or pints of Schnitz and Knepp or macaroni and cheese, green beans with bacon, pickled cabbage, applesauce and dessert.
Place orders no later than Sept. 15. Pick-up is Sept. 29.
Proceeds go to the UCC to help balance the church budget.

Blue Mountain Nursery will have a perennial plant sale 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 7 and noon-2 p.m. Sept. 8 at the church.
Plants will be available in quarts, 1- and 2-gallon pots. Grasses and knockout roses will be available in 3 gallon pots.
All plants will be donated and 100 percent of the profits will be given to Ziegels youth groups.

Parkland Community Library, at 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall Township, will be hosting Connie Newcomb, author of "Dog Show Confidential: Sneaking in the Back Door of Westminster," for a book signing and talk 7-8 p.m. Sept. 5.
Learn how Newcomb turned a neurotic, man-hating Chihuahua puppy into a champion, ending up at Madison Square Garden's annual televised Westminster Kennel Club dog show with an Award of Merit for her second champion.
Registration is needed to attend.
