St. E's opens with new staff, added technology

St. Elizabeth Regional School opened its doors for the 2013-14 academic year with a modest boost in enrollment along with added state-of-the-art technology and changes to the parochial school's staff.

Principal Sister Bonita, who began her 15th year as head of the Fullerton-based school, said the school serves boys and girls from kindergarten through the eighth grade.

The school's enrollment currently stands at 180 children, a modest increase from last school year.

The school is adding 30 new laptop devices and six iPads to aid its technology curriculum. The technoloy room for students now boasts the latest in computer hardware and software.

With two teachers retiring, new teachers have been added to the third- and fourth-grade classes. A new secretary has also been added, following the retirement of longtime secretary Joan Glover.

The school serves the parishes of St. Peter and Paul, St.Mary's, Holy Spirit, St. John's and St. Elizabeth.

Along with its corps of teachers, there are four special instructors for Spanish, music, physical education and other programs.

The first week of school was shortened because of the Labor Day holiday.
