Sheckler News

Sheckler Elementary School's 26th annual Cherrydale Farms Fundraiser will kick off Sept. 6 and end Sept. 27.

Participating in this fundraiser means earning funds to be used for student activities and events throughout the school year.

Students selling 10 items (15 if selling for two students at Sheckler) will be invited to attend the Mega Event held at a later time with a deejay, inflatables, dancing and games. Students selling 30 or more items will be invited to be taken to a lunch by a chauffeur-driven limousine.

Premium prizes can be earned based on the number of items sold.

The top homeroom will get an invitation for every student in that class to attend the Mega Event.

Payment for purchases must be sent in with orders by Sept. 27. Pick up of orders is scheduled for Nov. 6.

Thanks in advance for your support in this fundraiser.

Sheckler students are also selling KidStuff coupon books for $25. One book will be sent home with each student. It may be purchased and additional copies may be sold as well.

If you decide to purchase the book, send payment in to your child's teacher. If not, just return the book.

All payments, unsold books and orders for additional books along with payment for those books must be turned in by Sept. 27.

Checks should be made payable to Sheckler Home and School Association.

Thank you for your participation.

Meet The Teacher Night will take place on Thursday, Sept. 12. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. and the night will conclude at 8 p.m.

This is an opportunity to visit and get familiar with your child's teacher, learn rules and procedures for the year and get other information you may need.

There are two sessions this evening so that parents with more than one student will have a chance to visit each classroom.

The first session will be from 6 to 6:40 p.m. for grades 1-4 and morning kindergarten.

Session two will be 6:50 to 7:30 p.m. for grades 1-4 and afternoon kindergarten.

During the evening, a book fair will be going on in the cafeteria, giving you the chance to shop together and make purchases.

Information tables will be set up for you to visit and get familiar with some great organizations, including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Catasauqua Area Showcase Theatre, Home and School and others.

Phil's Fries will be on site this evening if you would like to purchase some great food throughout the evening.

Don't forget, if you have a student in kindergarten or third grade, get the child's physical and dental forms turned in as soon as possible.
