Lower Milford Township's Fall Festival will be held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 28, rain or shine. Smoking Smitty's BBQ and Pappy's Orchard will supply food and the guitar duo "Just So" will be playing music.
A silent auction, kiddie pedal tractor races (with prizes) and much more will highlight the day.

Enter the festival photo contest. Ribbons will be awarded for scenic Lower Milford; architecture of Lower Milford and wildlife of Lower Milford. Photo contest forms are also on the township website.
Dinners are back at the Lower Milford Township Fire Company, 1601 Limeport Pike. There will be a pork and sauerkraut dinner Sept. 12, and a spaghetti dinner Sept. 26, which includes a salad bar and dessert. Both run 4:30 to 7 p.m. or until sold out, so get there early.
There are reduced prices for children six through 12 and takeout is also available.
The quarterly meeting of the Hivel Und Dahl Preservation Society will be held 7 p.m. Sept. 24 in the Upper Milford Township building, 5671 Chestnut St., Zionsville. Steve Long (P.C. Products Co.) will give a talk on wood restoration. The talk will be an open forum and include such topics as, why wood rots; how to keep your wood from rotting; how to restore rotten wood.
Long will demonstrate products to help restore and preserve wood around your home. P.C. Products Co. is a local family company that manufactures a full line of repair and restoration products used worldwide.

Upper Milford Fire Company, Routes 100 and 29, Old Zionsville, serves breakfast 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the first Sunday of every month. All you care to eat. There are senior, adult and children's prices. The September breakfast was canceled due to the holiday weekend. There will be breakfast Oct. 6. The Upper Milford Western District Fire Co. #1 Ladies Auxiliary meets 7 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month at the firehouse. They are always looking for new members.
The Vera Cruz Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary is hosting another fall craft and vendor event this year, Oct. 12, the last day of Fire Prevention Week 2013, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Watch for more information in next month's column.

Upper Milford Township supervisors will meet Sept. 5 and 19. A 7 p.m. workshop will precede the 7:30 p.m. regular meeting.
The Upper Milford Recreation Commission meets 7:30 p.m. Sept. 18.
The Upper Milford Zoning Hearing Board meets 7:30 p.m. Sept. 9. They will hear a request from Lehigh Valley Baptist Church, 4702 Colebrook Ave., for a special exception to construct a drive-through canopy entrance.
The Emmaus-Upper Milford Joint Advisory Council will meet 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23 in Upper Milford.

The Historical Commission will meet Sept. 10. The Planning Commission meets Sept. 16. The Recreation and Open Space Board meets Sept. 11.
St. Peter's Union Church, 7863 St. Peter's Road, is having another antique tractor and implement collectors show 10 a.m. Sept. 15.
The event will be held in St. Peters Grove and will include tractor pulls and a variety of other tractor activities.
