ANCIENT OAK COLUMN

The Ancient Oak Women's Organization's first meeting of the fall season will be held 7:30 p.m. Sept. 4 at St. Paul's UCC Church, Trexlertown Road, Trexlertown. There will be an ice cream social after the meeting.

There will be a board meeting 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28 at 7045 Heather Road, Ancient Oak. Ancient Oak ladies interested in finding out about the organization are asked to attend the board meeting.

There is still time to enjoy great country music at the Alburtis Park. Sept. 1 - One Night Stand; Sept. 2 - The Outlaws with Crazy Elmer; Sept. 8 - Tracy Lee Band; Sept. 15 - Closing Jamboree, bands to be announced. Hours are 3 to 7 p.m. The park is located at 328 S. Main Street, next to the fire company.

The Lower Macungie Senior Citizens meet noon at the Lower Macungie Township Community Center Sept. 3 and 17. Bingo and other games are played after the business meetings. On Sept. 17 there is also special entertainment.

Bingo games will resume in the Alburtis Community Center in late September or early October.

Fall classes and activities are being scheduled at the Lower Macungie Library. For information, call 610-966-6864 or www.lowermaclib.org. There are a variety of classes including exercise, art, decorating.

Days to remember Sept. 2, Labor Day; Sept. 8, Grandparents Day; Sept. 22, autumn begins.
