There is still another opportunity to enjoy music, food, and fellowship in the beautiful Neffs United Church of Christ grove before the end of summer.
The 10th annual Blues Nite Out begins Aug. 23, with food stands opening at 5 p.m. and the Bryant Brothers on stage 7-10 p.m.
On Aug. 24, the refreshment stands open 4 p.m. with Jake Kaligas's Dynamic Duo performing 4-6:30 p.m.
The Sarah Ayers Band will entertain 7-10 p.m.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket, along with your appetite.
The menu includes turkey barbecues, sausage sandwiches, pulled pork, hot dogs, homemade baked goods and ice cream. Shrimp delight will be available Saturday.

Openings are still available for the new season of the Neffs UCC Preschool, which begins Sept. 9
Classes are offered for 3 and 4-year-olds and pre-kindergarten.

Heavenly Harps, a mother-daughter duo from Phoenix, Ariz., will perform 7 p.m. Aug. 28 at Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville.
Karin Gunderson and her daughter, Joy will present a program of harp, flute and vocal music.
A singing harpist, Karin has experience bringing peace and comfort to hospice patients and their families.
In the program, she includes stories of her experiences with God's presence.
Joy earned a degree in church music from St. Olaf's College in Minnesota.
The concert is free but contributions will be appreciated.

Pastoral Assistant Cathy Shaffer reports the youth of Union Lutheran Church dedicated a week of their summer vacation to service projects in York.
With Adviser Doug Collins, the young people led activities at nursing homes, worked in food banks, cleaned parks, painted houses and helped with children at camps.
At the end of the busy, but satisfying week, the kids said they would like to repeat the experience next year.

Pastor James Gott-wald, of St. John's United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, traveled to Long Beach, Calif. for the General Synod of the denomination, which takes place in a different city every two years.
Gottwald reports various speakers talked about the church's need to respond to changes in American society and the world while focusing on God's vision.
"We know there are changes taking place, but we can adapt; we can be reborn; we can look forward to hope for change," says Gottwald.

Friends of Parkland Community Library is taking reservations for a bus trip Sept. 28 to Baltimore, Md.
The trip includes a visit to the Maryland Zoo, the Inner Harbor, and the National Aquarium, with free time for lunch, shopping, and sightseeing.
