On July 18, Lower Milford Township supervisors voted unanimously voted to post two crosswalks in Limeport Village. One will cross Limeport Pike from the Kountry Kupboard to Limeport Hotel and the second will cross the pike by the stadium.
All proper signage, including yellow road signs within the crosswalks, will be placed according to PennDOT regulations.
PennDOT will also be contacted about missing warning signs, warning of lower speeds ahead.
The cost of signs and painting the crosswalks will be between $800 and $900. The signs will be posted by the township road crew. The yellow crosswalk signs themselves are free from Penn DOT and the township has several available. The crosswalks should be done in late August.
All of this came about due to the Limeport Visioning Plan and Jeff Grove, Limeport resident, who wished to get the ball rolling on traffic calming measures and other ideas from the plan.
Limeport residents will be asked, where needed, to cut back bushes and plants to allow for easier access to what few sidewalks already exist in Limeport Village.
