The Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association (GLVADA) has announced results of its 2012 Economic Impact Report.
GLVADA Executive Director Tom Kwiatek and Dan Rothrock, chair of GLVADA's marketing committee, shared key insights from the latest report solicited by the association, which provides information about the dealerships impact on the region.
Among key findings:
Total indirect and direct jobs attributed to GLVADA member dealerships totaled 4,190 in 2012, up 315 positions from 2011.
The average member dealership contributes $2.89 million in payroll expenses, including fringe benefits.
GLVADA dealerships spent an average of $540,000 on capital improvements in 2012.
GLVADA, a nonprofit association of more than 40 local dealerships, was formed to invest in the region by stimulating regional auto sales and supporting selected nonprofit organizations.
GLVADA contributes 50 percent of its annual proceeds to nonprofit organizations and funds auto tech scholarships for area students.
