The last day to log time for the Summer Reading Club for ages 2 to adult at Parkland Community Library will be Aug.10.
This program is designed to motivate children to read as well as maintain their reading skills during summer vacation.
Night at the Movies will be presented from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Aug. 14 at the South Whitehall Township Building. Call or stop by the library for movie title.
Friends of Parkland Community Library will have its 23rd annual used book sale 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Aug. 9 and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 10 at Asbury Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, South Whitehall Township.
Book donations will be accepted 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Aug. 5 -8 at the church.
The following are not acceptable: magazines, textbooks, Reader's Digest, VHS tapes, audio cassettes, encyclopedias, computer books before 2010 or any book not in good saleable condition.

Parkland Trojan Varsity Alumni Club will have its 17th golf tournament Aug. 16, at Iron Lakes Country Club.
There are open spots available for golfers. Deadline to enter is Aug. 10.

This year, the recipients of $2,000 scholarships were Grady Millick (Ashland U.) and Jessica Leiby (Stevens Institute).
In memory of Gary Wagner, former Parkland and University of Tennessee athlete, still holder of the PA 100 yard dash record, scholarships of $1,000 each were awarded to Noah Cosgrove (West Chester) and Samantha Szewczak (Loch Haven).
In memory of Craig Knauss, Parkland grad and Trojan alumni secretary, scholarships of $1,000 each were awarded to Callie Krajcir (West Chester) and Alec Dougherty (Coastal Carolina).
The athletic memorial at the entrance to the gym has now been lighted for more visbility.

The Parkland Trojan Varsity Alumni Club meets 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at Willow Tree Grove.
