Parkland Community Library will have its annual used book sale 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Aug. 9, and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 10, at Asbury United Methodist Church, Springhouse Road and Walbert Avenue, South Whitehall.

Book donations will be accepted 10 a.m.- 7 p.m. Aug. 5-8 at the church.

So not bring encyclopedias, VHS tapes, audio cassettes, pre-2010 computer books, magazines or any books not in good condition.

The church is handicapped accessible and air-conditioned.

The third annual Steve Brosky Jr. Memorial Wifflebowl Tournament will be held on Aug. 3 at Laurys Athletic Association fields, Laurys Station.

There will be 24 teams with games starting at 8 a.m. and ending around 6 p.m.

Rain date will be Aug. 4.

All proceeds will benefit pancreatic cancer.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, invites young people in eighth grade or higher to register for the confirmation class, which meets October through May.

Throughout the term, youth learn about the church, participate in public service projects, and engage in a variety of activities together.

Confirmation is the renewal of the baptismal covenant. Youth publicly affirm their faith at a ceremony in spring and are received by the church into active membership.

On Aug. 11, the 10:30 a.m. worship service will take place outdoors in the grove. Afterward, everyone is invited to stay for lunch and games for all ages.

Union Evangelical Lutheran Church Schnecksville, will be showing the movie, "The Croods," Aug. 9 on a giant inflatable movie screen on the back lawn.

Food and fellowship begin 7:30 p.m. The movie starts at dusk.

Everyone is welcome to this free event. Bring blankets or lawn chairs.

In case of rain, the movie will be shown indoors.

St. John's United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, continues its summer worship at 9 a.m. The annual church picnic is scheduled for Aug. 11 after the morning service.

The third annual Laurys Station Community Day will take place Sept. 21.

Food, entertainment, activities and fireworks are planned.

Sponsored by St. John's UCC, the event will take place at the Laurys Station Fire Company and the North Whitehall Township athletic fields.

The Schneck family will have its 94th reunion 1:30 p.m. Aug. 4, rain or shine, at Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5500 Route 873, Schneckville.

The evening meal will be at 4 p.m., followed by bingo, children games, horseshoes and volleyball.

Free hot dogs and birch beer will be available.

Bring a covered dish, lawn chairs, cakes for the cake walk and bingo prizes for all ages including children.
