STUDENT OF THE WEEK Faith Dries
Q. What grade did you just complete?
A. I just completed 12th grade at Salisbury High School.
Q. What was your favorite subject? Why?
A. My favorite subject was food class. I have a love for food because it is universal and it brings people together.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. I received a Family and Consumer Science Award while in school. I also received The President's Education Award, two certificates of proficiency, two certificates of distinction, as well as graduating with honors.
Q. What extracurricular activities were you involved in, both in and out of school?
A. Outside of school, I used to be a dancer.
Q. What is your next goal after high school?
A. To attend Northampton Community College for their culinary arts program.
Q. What would you say your biggest challenge was so far?
A. So far, I believe my biggest challenge was completing high school. It's a huge milestone to complete and, although I will miss some of the people, I'm glad it's over.
Q. What do you want to be remembered for?
A. I want to be remembered for my willingness to help others inside and outside of school.
Q. Who is in your family?
A. My family consists of my mother Carol, my father Thomas, my two brothers Andrew and Jeremy, and my puppy Rose. I also have a best friend named Lilly who is like my sister and who we consider part of the family.
Q. Do you have somone you look up to?
A. I look up to both my parents. They are the best parents any girl could ask for. They are always there for me and are very understanding.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. Kids can never wait to grow up because they want to be older and do the things grown ups do. Grown ups want to be younger so that they have time to do the things kids get to do. Treasure every moment you have because it does not matter how old you are. Live your life to the fullest and you'll be happy with whatever age you are.
