Hit and run
Reported by a resident in the 400 block of South Second Street, a parked car was sideswiped by another vehicle, leaving black paint transfer, over- night July 20.
Theft from vehicle
Reported by a resident in the 200 block of Adrian Street, unknown actors took a purse from an unlocked car overnight July 9. The purse later was found on a porch on South Fourth Street.
Reported by several residents of the 500 block of Penn Court, unknown actors entered unlocked cars and took GPS navigation units and other items overnight July 9. Numerous borough residents have reported their unlocked cars have been entered and ransacked. The Emmaus Police Department wants to remind residents to lock their cars and not leave any valuables in the vehicles.
Theft from motor vehicle arrest
Mark Anthony Wheeler, 22, of Emmaus, and Sheizan Fernandez, 19, formerly of Emmaus, were arrested and charged with theft from motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, loitering and prowling at night and conspiracy after they allegedly were observed and caught going through parked cars and stealing items at South Sixth and Minor streets 12:15 a.m. July 15. Both were taken to Lehigh County Central Booking for arraignment and committed to Lehigh County Prison.
Conspiracy of unauthorized use of a vehicle
Two 16-year-old males, of Emmaus, were charged in Lehigh County Juvenile Court with conspiracy of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and defiant trespass after they allegedly entered the residence of an acquaintance on North Sixth Street and took vehicle keys between 10:30 p.m. July 8 and 2:30 a.m. July 9. The teens then allegedly took the vehicle for a joy ride and crashed the vehicle in the woods along South Tenth Street then fled the scene. The vehicle was severely damaged.
Theft
Reported by two residents in the 600 block of North Second Street, unknown actors took three solar lights from front yards overnight July 6.
Reported by Spotts Brothers Contractors, two fork lift batteries were taken from a work site at Lincoln Elementary School, 233 Seem St., between July 4 and 8. The batteries were valued at $178 each and $50 damage was done to cables.
Retail theft
Reported by the CVS store, 702 Chestnut St., three actors entered the store and filled a bag with a large amount of over-the-counter allergy medications and whitening strips and fled the store without paying 7:30 p.m. July 9. The theft was discovered after a review of the store's surveillance video. Descriptions of the actors were not provided to police.
Theft of gasoline
Reported at Turkey Hill Minit Market, 602 Chestnut St., an unknown actor in a gray Jeep Sahara pumped $18.51 worth of gas and drove off without paying.
Burglary
Reported by Top Star Express Exxon, 14 E. Main St., two unknown actors smashed the front glass door of the convenience store and took a large number of cigarette packs 12:50 a.m. July 18.
Theft of a golf bag
Reported by a resident in the 1300 block of Little Lehigh Drive, a golf bag and golf clubs were taken from a front yard after the resident removed the bag from his trunk to run an errand, returned to his residence and found the bag taken sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. July 8. The Callaway brand golf bag contained a set of Cleveland golf clubs, a Taylormade Burner driver, a Callaway Big Bertha 5 wood and other items valued at $800
