The Allentown Band, America's oldest civilian band, will give a free open-air concert July 21 at Historic Haines Mill, Cetronia.
The concert, hosted by the Lehigh County Historical Society, starts at 6:30 p.m. in the park surrounding Haines Mill.
The band will perform patriotic tunes, Broadway hits and marches by John Philip Sousa.
Concert attendees should bring their own lawn chair or blanket.
Haines Mill will be open 1-6 p.m. so visitors can tour the mill prior to the concert.
Tours of Haines Mill will offer visitors an opportunity to experience a flour mill and a by-gone era when mills were essential to the community.
Tours and concert are sponsored in part by a grant from Lehigh County.

The band will give a concert 7:30 p.m. July 19 at West Park, 16th and Turner Streets, Allentown. This free concert is sponsored by Allentown's Park and Recreation Department.

Parkland High School Library will be open from 10 a.m.-noon and 1-3 p.m. Monday-Friday during the summer.
Due to extensive maintenance projects scheduled for Kernsville, Kratzer, Parkway Manor and Schnecksville elementary schools, students from those buildings have been assigned to Cetronia, Fogelsville and Ironton elementary schools for the summer.
Elementary and middle school library hours through Aug. 1 are as follows: 9:30-11:30 a.m. Tuesdays, Kratzer students at Cetronia, and Kernsville students at Ironton;
·1:15 -3:15 p.m. Tuesdays, Orefield Middle School students at Springhouse Middle School, and Ironton at home school;
·9:30-11:30 a.m. Wed-nesdays, Cetronia and Fogelsville at home schools;
·1:15 - 3:15 p.m. Wednesdays, Parkway Manor students at Fogelsville and Jaindl students at home school;
·9:30 -11:30 a.m. Thursdays, Schnecksville students at Ironton; and
·1:15 - 3:15 p.m. Thursdays, Springhouse Middle School.

Parkland Community Library's annual summer celebrity, Michael Palmer, M.D., author of "Political Suicide," "Oath of Office" and "A Heartbeat Away" will give a presentation in Parkland High School's auditorium 7 p.m. Aug. 1.
Books will be available for purchase.
Join the Lehigh Valley Therapy dogs for Read to the Pups and practice reading aloud to these patient and gentle dogs 6:30 p.m. July 22 and 29 at the library. Registration is required.
Night at The Movies will be presented 6:30 p.m. Aug. 14 at the South Whitehall Township Building.
