LEHIGH VALLEY WEATHER

Camp Jefferson column

This week's Camp Jefferson theme was "neon."

The kids and counselors alike had a great week playing games and cooling off at the Jefferson pool.

Four-square was the most popular game of the week, but the campers also enjoyed hungry, hungry giant, capture the flag, dodge ball and silent ball.

On Friday, we all dressed up in our brightest neon and lit up the park!

The boys and girls enjoyed a field trip Tuesday to Jordan Lanes for a few rounds of bowling. Several of the campers bowled spares and even a few strikes. One thing was certain – everyone had a great time.

The campers finished up two games of bowling and then enjoyed some hot dogs and chips.

On Wednesday, the campers enjoyed making key chains out of gimp string. Many of the campers made several key chains. A number of the girls also enjoyed making friendship bracelets throughout the week once the counselors taught them some patterns. After the short break for crafts, the campers got right back to the games.

It was a very hot week with temperatures mostly in the 90s, so the campers and counselors were relieved to take a dip in the pool every day. The kids loved doing cool tricks off the high dive, and playing some extra rounds of four square with the lifeguards.

Many of the campers were well-behaved, helpful to others and respectful. It was a tough decision, but our Campers of the Week were Ryan M. and Raquel M. Great job!

After all was said and done, it is safe to say that everyone had a blast at Camp Jefferson!
