Independence Day has come and gone, with picnics, parades and family celebrations to mark the day. I hope you were able to enjoy a few of the many fireworks displays in the area. Summer events are in full swing.
The Alburtis pool is open every day, weather permitting. On July 13, the police department will hold a Hawaiian Luau. Check the website www. aacconline.org for additional information.
The annual Alburtis 5K, Quinna Schleicher Memorial Kid Fun Run and Paws in the Park will be held Aug. 10. The website will have additional information.
The Alburtis senior citizens meet noon July 17 at the Gun Club on Gun Club Road.

There will be no Alburtis Lockridge Historical Society meetings during the summer.
