Upper Lehigh Historical Society is hosting a tea at the Schneck House 2 p.m. July 14, on the front lawn.

The tea will move indoors, if it rains.

Guests will be served scones, a finger sandwich, dessert and tea.

Reservations may be placed by calling Ann at 610-799-2387 or Sharon at 610-767-8560.

Tickets, which must be reserved in advance, are non-refundable.

Union Evangelical Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will be showing its next free outdoor movie July 12.

Movie goers are invited for food and fellowship at 7:30 p.m. The feature, "Admission," with Tina Fey, will start at dusk on a large inflatable screen.

Agape New Testament Fellowship, 5229 Route 873, Schnecksville, will have Vacation Bible School titled "Bringing in the Sheaves" 6:30-8 p.m. July 15-19.

All children, 3 years (must be potty trained) through 12 years are welcome to attend.

The children will concentrate on one verse each day through drama, overheads, puppets and active participation.

They will make and eat snacks, create crafts, tap and clap to uplifting music and release some of their energy through fun-filled games.

The Upper Lehigh Lions Club recently had a volunteer appreciation night for non-members who help at many fundraisers throughout the year.

At the event, Lion Jim Osmun presented a plaque to John Mondschein in recognition of his 10 years as Leo Club adviser at Parkland High School.

The Lions announced recipients of six scholarships given to graduating seniors.

The young people and their chosen places of study are: Erin Karp, Bucknell; Elizabeth Lamb, St. Francis University; Matthew Kleinhentz, Lehigh; Nathan Case, Penn State Schreyers Honors College; Katelyn LeRoy, Biola University; and Nadia Boekenkamp, University of Alabama.

Look for improvements at the Schnecksville Gateway Garden at the intersection of Routes 309 and 873.

The Lions have provided funds for Tall Timbers Nursery to beautify the site at the welcome sign.

The annual Roar With the Lions Festival and Craft Show is scheduled for July 26 and 27 in the Union UCC grove, Neffs.

Parkland Community Library is accepting reservations for a bus trip to Baltimore Sept. 28. Highlights include a visit to the Maryland Zoo with its Polar Bear Watch, Maryland Wilderness and African Journey.

After time for lunch, shopping, and sightseeing at the Inner Harbor, the day will end at the National Aquarium.
