Retail theft

A 15-year-old male, of Emmaus, was charged with retail theft after he was seen by loss prevention personnel allegedly taking a speaker, hiding it in his pocket and exiting Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Upper Macungie Township, 9:16 p.m. June 12. Store personnel held the teenager until police arrived. He was released into the custody of a parent.

A 16-year-old female and two 15-year-old females, all from Topton, were cited for retail theft after they allegedly opened packaging on $112 worth of items and placed the items in their purses at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Upper Macungie Township, 12:30 p.m. June 18. Store personnel stopped the teens when they attempted to leave the store.

Public drunkenness

Shawn Barry, of Macungie, was arrested for public drunkenness and criminal mischief after he allegedly damaged a bathroom stall door at Wawa, 3321 Willow Lane, Lower Macungie Township, 3:28 a.m. June 26.

Michael G. Mathews, 34, of Allentown, was charged with public drunkenness after he allegedly appeared to be under the influence of alcohol at Walmart, 1091 Mill Creek Road, Lower Macungie Township. 4:24 a.m. June 13. Mathews allegedly was asked to leave the store, refused, left and returned to the store minutes later. Mathews also allegedly was overheard swearing at store employees. Charges to be filed in District Court 31-3-02.

Fraud

Reported by a resident of the 2900 block of Magnolia Circle, Lower Macungie Township, 1:16 p.m. May 26, an actor used the resident's Walmart Online username and password to purchase an Xbox game system and an Xbox Live Membership. The investigation continues.

Possession of a controlled substance

Devin Deary, 22, of Putnam, Conn., will be charged with alleged possession of a small amount of marijuana after a traffic stop for a lane change violation, eastbound on Interstate 78, Salisbury Township,12:56 a.m. June 3. Charges will be filed in District Court 31-3-08.

Drug possession

A 17-year-old male, of Upper Macungie Township, was transported to juvenile detention facilities, after an attempted traffic stop at Hamilton Boulevard at Krocks Road, Lower Macungie Township and again at Grange Road at Cetronia Road, Upper Macungie Township, 11:19 p.m. May 17. The juvenile allegedly fled from police and struck a road sign on Grange Road at Cetronia Road. The juvenile then allegedly tried to flee on foot. Controlled substances and drug paraphernalia allegedly were found in the vehicle. Charges in the incident are pending juvenile proceedings and include drug possession, recklessly endangering another person, fleeing and eluding and unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Theft

Reported in the 6800 block of Sunflower Lane, Lower Macungie Township, overnight June 3, two flower pots valued at approximately $200 were taken from the front lawn. The investigation continues.
